United States Air Force Staff Sergeant Timothy Raso Honored for Military Accomplishments
Timothy Raso excels in aerospace, occupational and emergency medicine
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, AK, July 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- United States Air Force Staff Sergeant and Independent Duty Medical Technician Timothy Raso has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in aerospace, occupational and emergency medicine.
For the past eight years, Timothy Raso has served his country by supervising fellow airmen, managing the smooth operation of clinics, providing counseling services, and setting and complying with standards, rules and regulations. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was honored with four Meritorious Service Medals (2006-2010) and two Achievement Medals for his role in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2009). In 2008, he was named Outstanding Airmen of the Year. Timothy Raso was also a Sarah P. Wells Award Nominee, and an Air Force Medical Service Award Nominee.
He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration majoring in Healthcare Management and Health Sciences at Touro University International from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management earlier this year. In 2009, he received his Associate Degree in Applied Health Sciences from the Community College of the Air Force. Staff Sergeant Raso is also pursuing Certified Fitness Trainer Designation and Certification in Nutrition. A Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, Certified Basic Life Support Instructor, and Certified Military Healthcare Instructor, he completed Self Aid Buddy Care Training and is certified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
A 32nd Degree Scottishrite Mason and member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, he previously served a President of Airmen Against Drunk Driving. Looking ahead, Mr. Raso intends to complete his master's degree, obtain a certification in nutrition, establish a gym, become a personal trainer and counsel members on nutrition. He also hopes to tackle the problems society confronts with fitness and nutrition and get involved in environmental and public health as well as disaster management planning.
