Robert Franklin Frazier Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Robert Franklin Frazier faithfully served in the United States military for 30 years

PALM SPRINGS, CA, August 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Franklin Frazier, Retired Aeorgrapher's Mate Master Chief Petty Officer (AGCM) and Command Master Chief (CMC) for the United States Navy, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Military Service. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Robert F. Frazier was born in Louisville, KY on June 23, 1940. After graduation from high school he attended the University of Louisville for one year before joining the United States Navy in August, 1961.

After undergoing recruit training in San Diego, CA, he was transferred to the Naval Air Technical Training Unit (NATTU) in Lakehurst, New Jersey for Aeographer's Mate Class "A" School training. Upon graduation, he served 19 months at NAS Glynco, Georgia as a Weather Observer before volunteering for Detachment "A," Antarctic Support Activity.

In June of 1964, while undergoing training for the Antarctic's wintering-over party, Master Chief Petty Officer Frazier responded to a request for a volunteer to go aboard USS EDISTO (AGB-2), which was preparing for deployment to Palmer Peninsula, Antarctica to build an additional wintering-over station. After serving 10 months in EDISTO, he was transferred to USS GLACIER (AGB-4) to await reenlistment and transfer orders.

From November 1965 to December 1968, Master Chief Frazier served as a Flight Weather Observer with the Airborne Early Warning Squadron One (VWI) in Guam, Marianas Islands. Before rotation stateside, Master Chief Frazier had qualified as a Flight Meteorologist, an officer's billet assigned to only a few first class petty officers.

In January 1969, he again reported to NATTC Lakehurst, New Jersey to attend the Aerographer's Mate Class "B" School. Upon graduation, he remained on duty at NATTC Lakehurst for a three-year tour of Instructor Duty, as a class "A" School instructor.

In August 1972, he reported to Fleet Weather Central (FWC) Guam, M.I. for duty. Shortly after arriving in Guam he was sent on Temporary Additional Duty to Japan to support flight operations as a forecaster. While there, he was ordered to Misawa, Japan to assume Chief Petty Officer in Charge duties at the newly established Naval Weather Service Environmental Detachment. After completing the groundwork for this operational detachment, Master Chief Frazier returned to FWC Guam and was assigned duties as Training Officer.

In November 1973, Master Chief Frazier was again transferred to NATTC Lakehurst, New Jersey where he served as Instructor, and later Supervisor, of the Aerographer's Mate Class "C-1" School (formerly class "B").

In August 1976, the Interservice Training Review Organization (ITRO) ordered a study to be made on the feasibility of consolidating all DOD Weather Schools. Master Chief Frazier was sent to Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois, to help conduct that study, and after approval to consolidate was received, he was transferred to Chanute Air Force Base in January 1977 to represent the United States Navy and the Aerographer's Mate rating in the development of weather curricula, and to supervise implementation of consolidated weather training. After consolidated training commenced, he was assigned duties as Service School Command Great Lakes, Chanute Detachment's Command Senior Chief and Training Program Coordinator for all Naval Training conducted on Chanute Air Force Base.

In August 1979, Master Chief Frazier was transferred to USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) where, in October 1979, he was selected as EISENHOWER's first Command Master Chief (C/MC). With his selection, Master Chief Frazier became the first Aerographer's Mate to hold this important billet on a commissioned naval vessel. Following his three-year tour on "IKE," he was transferred to Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center in Monterey, California where he filled a Master Chief Petty Officer of the Command billet.

In June 1988, Master Chief Frazier was transferred to his last duty assignment, Naval Western Oceanography Center, Pearl Harbor, HI, where he served as Western Region Command Master Chief. On July 01, 1991, Master Chief Petty Officer Frazier retired with 30 years, 02 days of active Naval service.

Master Chief Frazier has been awarded with the Air Medal (fourth award); Navy Commendation Medal (fourth award); Air Force Commendation Medal; Navy Achievement Medal; Navy Unit Commendation (second award); Air Force Outstanding Unit Award; Meritorious Unit Commendation;

Navy "E" Ribbon (third award); Seventh Good Conduct Award for the Period Ending 89Aug27; Navy Expeditionary Medal; National Defense Service Medal (second award); Antarctic Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/Silver Star & 4 Bronze Stars; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (second award); RVN Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color) w/Palm; RVN Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Action Color) w/Palm; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device (60-); and Navy Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon (Sharpshooter). His primary specialties include AG-8241 Navy Aircrewman (25Yrs 2Mos); 9502-Instructor (21 Yrs 10Mos); 9580-Command Master Chief (10Yrs 11Mos); and Master Training Specialist.

Master Chief Petty Officer Frazier has three children: Bobbie Carol Allaire, currently residing in Jackson, New Jersey; Robert Jr., residing in Louisville, Kentucky; and Dawn Michelle, who resides in Benton, Arkansas. He has a total of seven grandchildren. His life companion, Marilyn Cohen, is from New York.
