Thomas E. Bruns is certified as a logistics and contracting professional by the United States Department of Defense
FAYETTEVILLE, GA, August 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas E. Bruns, Vice President of Stanley, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in contract and logistics management.
As a vice president of Stanley, Inc., Mr. Bruns is currently responsible for overseeing 300 Stanley and 500 subcontractor employees who provide logistics support to the United States Army and generate annual revenue exceeding $50 million. Additionally, he maintains e-mail and telephone communications; coordinates with customers and employees to resolve resource and performance issues; and manages new business development actions including preparation of over 100 successful proposals.
Mr. Bruns is also a former director of purchasing for Fulton County, GA overseeing a $100M commercial purchasing program and a former director of purchasing for Georgia managing the purchase of over $1B in commercial products and services annually by state government and education organizations. He achieved certification as a Public Purchasing Officer during these assignments.
Formerly, he served the nation for 28 years, including service in the Vietnam War, as a U.S. Army commissioned officer achieving the rank of colonel. Col. Bruns was involved with aviation and ground logistics management and contracting. During these assignments, he was selected for command of units from company to group level and served in a variety of staff assignments in a significant number of Army commands. His final assignment was Contracting Division Chief and Principal Assistant for Contracting to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Forces Command.
In 1978, Mr. Bruns received a master's degree in government and business studies from Webster University. He achieved the highest level of certification as a logistics and contracting professional by the United States Department of Defense. Additionally, he is affiliated with the Army Aviation Association of America, the Association of the United States Army and the National Contract Management Association. He attributes his success to hard work, attention to detail and knowledge gained from nearly four decades of hands-on experience. Upon retirement from his current position, Mr. Bruns hopes to provide contracting and/or logistics consulting services to businesses focusing on support of state and federal contract service requirements.
