Trevor acts as a diplomatic consular representative for the Solomon Islands in New South Wales. Among his numerous responsibilities, Mr. Garland provides consular assistance and works in the areas of trade and tourism. Trevor also coordinates a program for St Vincent's Hospital which brings Solomon Islanders to Sydney for medical treatment.

During his educational career, Mr. Garland earned degrees in Arts and Nursing. He is a member of the Commonwealth Day Council, the Parliamentary and the Fellowship Group. In the time away from his demanding schedule, Trevor greatly enjoys gardening exotic plants.
