Sergeant First Class Michelle L. Shaw Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who foe Excellence in Military Service
Ms. Shaw is a certified combat lifesaver, supply sergeant and drill sergeant
LAWTON, OK, October 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michelle Shaw, Sergeant First Class for the U.S. Army, is recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership. and excellence in military service.
Ms. Shaw has 35 years of experience serving in the U.S. Military, with the past 29 as a Sergeant First Class. Her daily responsibilities include issuing equipment, maintaining records of the unit, and overseeing the general welfare of recruits. Ms. Shaw also steps in when needed, helping as a Drill Sergeant.
In 2003 Ms. Shaw earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife/Forestry Conservation. She is a certified combat lifesaver, supply sergeant, drill sergeant, and this past year was certified in Combative Level 1 at Ft Sill. She is a coordinator for the Little Jr Miss & Little Miss Prosser pageant and makes the sashes for the girls. She also made the sashes for the Miss Prosser Court for the past 4 years. Ms. Shaw has been a 4-H Leader for more than 20 years. She also placed first in her age division in the Five Kilometer Military Run. When not on military duty, Ms. Shaw drives a school bus for the Prosser School District in Washington and works with K-12 students. She created an oil painting of the 1st Cavalry Horse Platoon and it's displayed in the Museum at Ft Hood, Texas.
Ms. Shaw has a son named Pressley. He graduated from Prosser High in 2005, and from UTI in 2006 with a degree as a Mercedes technician. Her daughter Cassandra also graduated from Prosser High in 2008, attended Columbia Basin College and plans to get a degree in business and acting. Ms. Shaw enjoys riding her horse Cochis and spending time with her first granddaughter who will be 5 months old in September. Ms. Shaw is also the aunt of Women's World Cup and Woman's Olympic Soccer player goalie, Hope Solo.
