CDR C. Agneta Dahl Recognized for Excellence in Military Services
CDR C. Agneta Dahl was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal in 2010

SEATTLE, WA, September 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Commander C. Agneta Dahl, Chief of Contingency Planning for Force Readiness for the U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Puget Sound, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in military service.

CDR Dahl is a marine safety officer with more than 20 years of experience in the U.S. Coast Guard. She serves as the Sector Chief of Contingency Planning and Force Readiness, a role which entails ensuring the Sector's 400+ personnel, who fulfill the eleven Coast Guard missions, have the training and qualifications to be deployed at any given moment. Furthermore, she maintains all contingency plans, including mass rescue plans, earthquake emergency plans, oil spill response and anti-terrorism plans. CDR Dahl retains a strong background in Marine Environmental oil spill prevention and response, contingency planning, and port security. She has three years of international experience as the U. S. Coast Guard liaison to the World Maritime University, the International Maritime Organization's university, in Malmö, Sweden.

CDR Dahl pursued a career with the U.S. Coast Guard because she wanted to protect the marine environment, be able to give back to the community, and see her impact firsthand. She has received four commendation medals, two achievement medals, and in 2010 was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal. CDR Dahl attributes her success to the numerous opportunities afforded to her through her U.S. Coast Guard assignments, hard work, and the support she receives from her family, especially her husband, who she credits with taking care of her family when she cannot.

A graduate of The National Graduate School, CDR Dahl earned a Master of Science in Quality Systems Management in 2005. CDR Dahl is eligible for retirement, but aims to be promoted to the rank of captain and continue her work in the prevention and response mission. When not working, she enjoys tennis, sailing and other outdoor activities.
